The essential feature of the Leaver Loom is that it is the only machine which reproduces by multiplying them the movements which the lace maker motions to the threads of its pillow when handling its distaffs.
This heavy machine of 12 to15 tons, drives hundreds of rods actuated by the "Jacquard" and 5000 carriages which perfom a shuttle movements and interweave 15 000 threads.
