This french label has got an incredible international reputation . Osmose is known worlwide, may be more than in France. As soon as Osmose was created, the aim was to cover the entire world & to sell their productions everywhere as possible. Another principe for Osmose is to not follow fashion musical currents. the last thing you have to know about them is that they 're keen on vynil album. So lots of their production are also available in LP.

"From Within" est phénoménal.

ALbum : At the gates of Hell - Style : Heavy metal
The Swedish master of heayv black metal are back. totally home made, Blackheim's band continues its long work of renewal of the heavy metal scene. The black metal infleucnes of the beginning seems now so far. Bewitched is now just & only a pure heavy metal band. Entirely turned into the 80's, Bewitched delivers 9 new metal hymns & one cover of Thor featuring Thor as guest on vocals. The main force of Bewitched is to create simple but efficient riffs on pure blasting melodies. The guitar work is really impressiv ewith good guitr harmonies. Chorus are really entertaining. Bewitched remains old Running Wild, Grave Digger & all this german heavy metal scene of the begining of the 80's. Some'd said this kind of metla is dead, but it sounds so refreshing now that nobody can ignore it. This is the best Bewitched's release to date!
ALbum : The inexorable - Style : Death metal
This Cd sounds like hell! It's pure total
crushing death metal played at a so high level that Angelcorpse desrves
no chance to other bands! Facing their past releases, the band worked a
lot to enrich their sound which is now clearer. The result is so mroe impresive.
With still technical guitar parts & amazing guitar solos, Angelcorpse
reamins the fury of the first extreme metal wave. Remember when Kerry &
Jeff from Slayer were considered as one of the most extreme guitar
players! Angelcorpse has just given a modern touch to the exterme metal.
It's pure fast death metal. Their drummer is surely the best one for this
style. there's no deadtime, no weak songs, just 8 death metal attacks.
Like the absolute must-have of the extreme metal scene, this album is really
too short : 35 mintues. but it's so intense that nobody can survive more
than time. Definitly great & out of the common !
Mini ALbum : Sodomizing the Arched Angel- Style : Indus black metal
This french band had already one album left
on Season of mist . After a few months of silence, the band is now back
on Osmose prodctions. The deal starts with this mCD showing 4 new tracks
of this unordinary band. With a new line-up, Anorexia nervosa has quite
changed its tyle too. Of course, there's still an indus touch but now the
band combines mainly more elements. from Black metal to gothic, between
indus metal & atmospheric metal, anorexia Nervosa creates its own style,
which sounds unique. The production os this mCD is very intense & very
powerful. With lots of orchestral parts, black metal vocals & tons
of arrangements, Anorexia Nervosa's Sodomizing the Arched Angel is there
to prove that the band has still a lot to say into the metal scene. Don't
await the full length album to discover this new orientation of one of
the most uncompromising avant-garde french bands.
Album : Panzer Division Marduk -- Style : Black metal
"Rein in blood" was the ultimate thrash metal album ever released. Each metal style had known this kind of album, except probably in the black metal scene. Of course, "Battles in the north" from immortal was really near from perfection, 'cos never a band reached a so high brutal level. Then, Marduk came! In 30 minutes, the band achieves a total & massive destruction. With few but incredible solos like Kerry King used to do before, Marduk created the most brutal & convincing black metal album to date. The production is one of the most powerful ever did for this kind of band. There's actually no band able to compete with Marduk in this music. & when you see the new evolution of a band like Immortal, you can be sure that Marduk has become the ultimate black metal band. Here's an album destined to become a cult one.
Album : Home sweet Hell - Style : Death metal
Bored of the swedish melodic Death metal scene? Then, Listen to Dellamorte's new album. This is pure masterpiece. Dellamorte renews with a style that was supposed dead with the evolution of Entombed playing a more groovy metal music. "Home Sweete Hell" is the new "Left hand path"! The sound is massive & one of the most heavy but without losing any powerful parts. This album is like a fist in your face. When all bands make tempos slower & adds more & more melodies in their so called brutal music, Dellamorte shows the good way. Don't matter with subtleties, be as fast & as brutal as possible is their main word. Dellamorte really combines the force of primary death metal like Entombed with the powerful side & the attitude of Motorhead. It's just perfect for headbanging!
Album : The fire & the wind - Style : Heavy black - Interview
Web : http://www.demoniac.com - firstname.lastname@example.org
"Stormblade" was showing a new face for this so particular band. After ouring Europe during the World Domination tour with Immortal, Dark Tranquillity, Dellamorte, Ö Demoniac is back. Still extreme in its attitude, Demoniac can easily be distinguished from the masses by a more melodic approach in its music. In "stormblade", they were showing some old heavy metal influences. In "The fire & the wind", the band strengthens this way. & the result is just amazing! Demoniac is the Helloween of the black metal scene. It's pure heavy metal played at a high level. The guitar works is really surprising with some rythmics parts that cold have features in to a maiden album & some of the best heavy metal solos released by a band in this style. Only vocals remains aggressive. The acclaimed potential showed in "Stormblade" has ben raised again. Through pure speed metal hymns ("Demoniac Spell") to old heavy metal classics ("The Eagle spreads its wings"), Demoniac delivers a lesson in metal.
Album : The Awakening - Style : Death metal
After several albums onto several records companies, Merciless (not to be counfound with the metal band Mercyless) finally gets a good record deal with the famous french company Osmose. It gives now a more serious stature to this band. This album is a reissue of first Merciless' album. Playing a brutal death inspired by the early years, Merciless preserves its special sound. It's not this kind of too heavy production that makes all music less powerful. Merciless has kept some old thrash metal lessons especially for the production. So, this album has to be taken as a transition between old thrash metal & current Death metal, between bands like Sodom & Terrorizer! Maybe time has come from Merciless to get more exposition & recognition from the whole international metal scene.
Album : Onwards to the spectral defile - Style : Death metal
Despite the slow decrease of this movement, there's still some new black metal bands signed. As mainly styles, Black metal knows a kind of diversification . After extreme bands, some appears more melodic, some other slower, & so on. Cirith Gorgor doesn't take care about all these evolution. The band plays primary black metal, as fast & as brutal as possible. Of course, some death metal infleunces can be found, but it's certainly because of the good production put on this album. Cirith gorgor works a lot to get a better production than the current black metal releases. It makes their music stronger & more efficient. & with sometimes, the apparition of good melodies ( the intro of "Winter embraces lands beyond"), Cirith Gorgor achieves its goal. This is really a great debut for this band that gets tons of good ideas despite a brutal style.
Album : At the heart of Winter -Style : Black metal
The new Immortal is finally out after a"Blizzards beasts" that was really
not their best effort to date. The cover you see is not really the official
one, it's only the promo one ( the final cover wasn't ready when promo
CD were printed. I think you know now how is the cover. It's no more a
picture of the band but a paint by the famous french artists Fournier which
has already worked for Dementia & tons
more. The logo has also changed. Everybody can read it now! So, what's
new with this album? At first, Immortal has got a new drummer & a new
bass player. Recorded in the famous Abyss studio by Peter Tätgren
himself, this album has got a very good production, certainly their best
to date. The guitar sound is now very well recorded. Immortal has also
quite changed its style. It's no more ultra fast songs. There's more variations
in tempos & new influences coming from heavy metal ( hear some riffs
of "Solarfall") & it really kicks ass. The result sounds more efficient
with sometimes surprisng clean guitars parts! "Battles in the north" was
the ultimate black metal album but this new one leads Immortal to a new
level. The band can attract more people to its music now, without losing
any piece of aggressivity. The 6 tracks of this album shows a new face
for Immortal & a new evolution for brutal black metal.

vendues. Aujourd'hui, le groupe enfonce le clou. "Damned in Black "va encore
plus loin. Les références heavy sont encore plus présentes
("The Darkness that embrace me").
Album : This is Satanik -Style : Rockín metal
Hereí s a new album by Osmose . the cover is really simple, but the tittle track seems to be explicit ! Rok is playing a kind of rockíníroll but with the state of mind that could have been the one of Venom in 1981. Rok remains old Venom ( Heinkel Hellfucker ) or Motorhead ( Vockalik vomitation ). Music is simply composed & just direct. Itís destined for headbanging. Tracks are called Vokalik Vomitation, the Butcher of Bagdad , Shit city , Pestilence of Insanity backwards . So with such tittles you know whatís inside ! Rok is like a big kick in the ass of metal music. Just this kind of band that want to wake up all those that prefer to think their music instead of living it. Playing just for the fun & for the pleasure to afraid people, this is the goal of Rok. Some songs will remain the old thrash period like Bulk & ferocity , some other ones will sound as pure bland of rock & metal. Rok is this style of band that doesnít take care about what people will think about them. Rok is maybe the Venom of the 90ís : provocative, arrogant & noisy. All what we liked in Venom !
Album : Bloodhem - Style Black metal - Interview
Created in 1991, the first album Frost was released in 1995, after a cult demo Yggdrasill in 92. Then, has followed in 1997 the experimental album Eld .Then, they toured a lot to promote their name ( World domination tour with Immortal, Demoniac, ...) Enslaved has known recently some changes in line up Bloodhem is the new album. In comparison with Eld, thereís some changes in Enslaved. Itís like a come back to what they did before Eld but with enough experimentations to make it interesting & to not release a carbon copy of past albums. Enslaved is probably one of the best Viking metal band . Their music stays aggressive but the new guitar player brings his own touch by using more heavy metal riffs in music & some good leads parts like in Nidingalaskt . So, the sound is quite different from what Enslaved used to get before. Urtical Gods; is a perfect example & itís one of the best songs of this album. It sounds like a black metal Kreator/Destructionís song. With such furious titles, Enslaved can assert Bloodhem as one of the best Black metal or better Viking metal release of the year. The use of various sing ( highly aggressive vocals, opera or gothic vocals, high tone ones, ...) allows Enslaved to reach a large range of climate. Itís now less difficult to enter & comprehend Enslaved Ďs world & finally Bloodhem gets all elements to become their most famous release to date !

Absuís history take form in 1991 with its first demo Return of the ancients which was followed by several releases, 7 », , CD, LPís , sampler & tribute ( the last one is a Maiden tribute on Dwell records). The 3 piece band has just released a new CD before the 3rd re release of their first album Barathrum : Vitriol in digipack. This new mini Cd has been produced by Kol Marshal ( who have already worked with King Diamond, Mercyful Fate, ...) The styleof the band is still so characteristic : Absu created its own style based upon a technical & avant garde death/black metal. Itís really difficult to folow & comprehend their music. Th ebest track of this album is undoubtless Never blow out on the eastern candle . It starts like a blend of old Kreator & then, Absu strongly remains Destruction with some références to bands like Morbid Angel. Absu plays really something new & different & itís really destined to an experienced audience
Album : The highest Law - Style Death metal
Ritual Carnage is a young band, created in 1994 by one man : Damian. After the changes in line up, that let Damian wrote alone some songs for the band, he joined the famous Tyrant ( signed on pulverized records & that delivered recently an excellent black metal album) in 1996. But Damian continue to search for th egood guys to follow him in rutal Carnage. In 1995, the first demo is recorded & then itís followed in 1998 by the recording of their album in the famous Morrissound studio. After hearing 4 songs, Osmose productions signed the band & then released in 1998 The highest Law What a pleasure to see the Death metal scene back & stronger than ever! Ritual Carnage was quite unknown in Europe but with this album, itís sure that their name wonít stay unknown anymore. No problem with the production of this record made in the famous Morrissound studio. More, Ritual Carnage & Damian had created ultimate Death metal songs. Itís like if we still were in the golden years of Death metal in the beginning of the 90ís. & itís also sure that Ritual Carnage would have rapidly grown up in this scene. Now, itíll be quite different as the Death metal scene Ďs only begun its rebirth. Anyway, Ritual Carnage can be the easiest way to re-discover this movement & probably the best one to learn what is strong & excellent Death metal. Remaining sometimes Morbid Angel or Death but also oldest bands like Kreator, Ritual Carnage composed excellent & technical guitar parts with very good solis. Thereís one bonus track & i think it resumes the state of mind of Ritual Carnage. They release a cover of Death metal from the cult UK band Onslaught. « The highest Law » can bring the same feeling that Exodus made when they released thier first album . When you hear it for th efirst time, itís a real sensation !
style : Black metal - album : Nightwing
1990 signs the creation of anti christianist band Marduk. The aim is to propose the most blaphemous & unholu music ever created! After a demo tape called 'Fuck me Jesus', No fashion records wanted to sign them & to release a 7" EP. The band prefered to wait & to release a full length album in 92 : 'Dark endless'. The next year, Marduk signs with osmose for a 2d album called 'Those of the unlight'. then, they toured with Immortal & create their first masterpiece called 'Opus nocturne'. The success of this album & of th etour they made with Enslaved make them re issued 'fuck me Jesus' in a Cd format. The band gained more & more audience & is now described as a cult black metal band. 1996 will see the release of their well reputed album 'Heaven shall burn ...when we are gathered'. the result is probably one of the best one received by a lack meatl band. The success of this album leads them to schedule th erelease of a live album 'Live in Germania', that proves that Marduk is not studio band but also a killer live act! then, th eband works a lot to offer a good following to 'Heaven shall burn...'
'Nightwing' is so released in 1998. this album is divided in 2 parts. It's maybe the most accomplished work they made for an album. It's their most ambitious album too! The first chapter shows a classical face of Marduk. It's kinda symphonic brutal black metal. they succeed in developping more & more aggressivity in their music. It's really extreme! Only guitars parts bring a few melodies. The 2d chapter shows a more innovative face of Marduk. There's some slower songs. It sounds heavier too! it sometimes makes me think about Venom hymns like 'In league with Satan'. This kind of songs strengthens a darkest side in Marduk's universe. If Markuk proved with their first albums that they were skilled & performant musicians, they now assert their muscial ability & show they 're fine composers too! Nightwing was really the ultimate black metal album that the band must release. It's a new step for them that will bring them to the posterity!
IMPALED NAZARENE :
style : Nuclear metal - album : Rapture
(Click on below for interview)
Born in 1990, Impaled Nazarene is probably the oldest extreme metal
band from Finland. Slowly by slowly, album after album, Impaled Nazarene
built its style. At this time they released 4 albums, three 7"EP &
1 mini CD. 'Rapture' is their 5th album. Recorded at Tico tico studio in
Sweden, this album is also available in vynil format ( like often in the
case of osmose producitons, which is one of the latest company that proposes
vynil version of their album). I highly recommend this LP version because
of the 2 bonus tracks including a cover ersion of sodom song 'Burst command
til war'. For 'Rapture', Impaled Nazarene has really worked a lot to propose
the best following of their 'latex cult' album. With this band, it's like
a tribute to the mid 80's thrash metal bands ( that strongly remains me
old Kreator, Sodom & Destruction) , including other influences such
as black metal ( for main voices), death metal & even punk. Their sound
& production are typically issued from the 80's . Despite their extreme
aggressivity & speed, the band is also able to create slower riffs.
The precision of the rythmic section is overall impressive &
the whole album reaches a rare powerful . This album confirms the good
health & the inspiration level of the band.
- Style : Nuclear metal
Rate of satisfaction :
style : Black metal - album : Trans cunt whip
(Click on below for interview)
After a first debut album called 'Hosanna Bizarre' issued in 96, Tsatthoggua gives itself all means to create something 100% better than their first album. Recorded in the mythic Abyss studio with Mickael Hedlund & Peter Tagtren ( from the famous band Hypocrisy), their new album 'trans cunt whip' has got an impressive production. It's really hard to have a clear sound for a band being so aggressive & corrosive. Playing at an incredible speed, Tsatthoggua shows its difference by the quality & diversity of their riffs ( like for 'golden shower'). Tsatthoggua is a band to put into Immortal & Marduk but with a more bizarre & perverse elements. To hear this album is like a discharge of adrenalin. It's like a release of a deeply inner rage. This album is purely irremediable!
World Domination 2 :
Here is a short presentation of some productions, but to have a good panoramic of their productions, you can order their "World domination2" CD ( a double CD) which has the advantage to make you discover lots of good bands for a great price:
VITAL REMAINS: This is a new Osmose release but the band has already made an album for another label. I hear one track from the compil "World domination" & can say that this band is really inspired & has got a big technical potential. They sometimes uses classical guitars & synths for differents atmospheres in their music.
MARDUK: This black metal band has already 4 albums in their discography. The last one "Heaven shall burn...when we are gathered" is described as as the most intense & violence albums they made. They sold more than 12000 exemplaries of it. They 've just release anew mCD with covers of venom, destruction, bathory. their music is really violent & aggressive!!!
IMMORTAL : The black metal gods!!They came to existence in 1989-90 & are with Osmose since 1992 (first album : diabolical fullmoon mysticism). Originality, inimitable style are the less you could say about them. There's tons of clone of Immortal, but less original. Immortal is also an innovating band. They put emphasis in their songs. The production of their last albums (Battles in the north & blizzards beast) are referencees for lots of black bands. It's also one of the rare black metal bands touring for the promotion of their album.
DARK TRANQUILLITY: Described as the originators of sweden sound : brutality of death thrash combined with orchestration. That's really the good definition of the band's style. they' ve already made 2 albums for Osmose :The gallery & The mind's I ; and one mCD "enter the suicidal angels. Dark tranquillity is impressive by their quality & technicity of their compositions. Music is complex & rich with lots of arrangements ( melodies & harmonies made by the 2 guitars). The band has got a mail adress : email@example.com.
GEHENNA: Gehenna is inspired by early 80 bands. Their sounds, songs & attitude remains me bands like Motorhead, ace of spades period with the fury of early Venom. this music is surely refreshing & proves that metal rock is not dead. This band has also a fun attitude.
ENSLAVED: A young band but already one of the most talentuous . Frost & Eld (their 2 last albums) are representative of a certain style of black metal :Complexity of the structure, lyrical parts mixed with brutal riffs. The production of the album are prodigious & show music to its advantage. Sometimes, brutal parts let place to atmospheric breaks .
DRILLER KILLER: this band has got its own basis in the early 80. "Fuck the world", their last album present a thrash metal band with 80's influences & very demanding.
BEWITCHED:A real revelation on the metal sceene. As they think that there's lack of talent in metal area, they take their influences from 80 metal bands. Thier first album : Diabolical desecration is really impressive & refreshing. Imagine a band playing heavy metal with black metal vocals. So, the band sounds quite original. Solis on the songs are very well done & show that the band know how to play. They 've also released a mCD of covers : Encyclopedia of Evil. This is the ultimate referencee in heavy metal...
MYSTIFIER: An extreme bands. The sound is very very loud. They play a slow black metal, very oppressive. It remains me aslower version of old Venom with sometimes influences of first Running Wild for vocals. This band is really original & disconcerting. after their 2d Cd called goetia, the band planned a new one called : the world is so good that who made it doesn't live here.
IMPALED NAZARENE: What a killer production!!. There's industrial influences, but impaled Nazarene sounds also like an indus version of Kreator, with punk riffing parts. This band has already 4 album & one mCD : Tol cormpt norz norz ; Ugra karma ; suomi finland perkele ; Latex cult (the referencee in Impaled nazarene album) & the cult mCd called Motorpenis.
INFERNO: described as a grandiose festival of death & destruction, this band don't hesitate to talk about their influences : Slayer, dark angel, kreator, sodom, whiplash, venom....This style of thrash metal is very interesting & Infernö is one of the last bands to play it. "Uter hell" is a very advisable CD
RAISM: ex Diabolos rising, the music of this band is harsh vile & aggressive. They seem to hate the entire world. you can heard some indus influences & some ambient synths parts. this mix is really interesting.
THE ROCKING DILDOS: this is a side projct with osmose members & Impaled Nazarene (i think) members. Their debut CD is very fun with lots of good ideas. It's inspired by fast metal rock. Music is furious, and the production show it to an advantage. This project is refreshing & cheering.
NECROMANTIA: Created in 1989, this band has an original line-up, cos there's not rythm guitar but a 8 string bass for rythmics. Their black metal mixes differents ambiances with strengthen occult, dark & pagan influences. They know that sometimes a song needs to have slow break to bring melancholic parts. Don't miss their "Ancient pride", new CD.
ANGEL CORPSE: A young band influenced by thrash masters as possessed, sodom, early bathory..."Hammer of gods", (1album) show a sophisticated & savage band. A new mCD is foreseen this year: Iron, blood & blasphemy.
ABSU: They are inspired by celtic myths & legends. They have 3 albums with Osmose: Barathrum:vitriol ; the sun of Tiphareth ; the 3rd storm of Cythrau & also one mCD : thrashstorms. A great black metal bands who remains me a modern version of Manilla Road in their way to structure songs. Rythms are insistent but enriched by arrangements.
