The double sided radiant fluxmeter is a sensor that permit to measure the net radiative transfer that cross the sensor, with a double measure in the two senses. In exit we have a tension proportional to the net radiative flux.

Operating principle:

The double sided radiant flux sensor is designed to sense the mean irradiance on both sides of a small plane element. Its a radiant flux sensor responsive to the radiation absorption or emission on the two sides of a thin foil sensing area. Suspended in the air, such a device can be used as radiometers of the type that compares the radiation incident on the two sides of their sensing area (independently of the sensor temperature) and measures thus a net radiant exchange.

Advantage:
Ultra thin: the local temperature increase across the sensor thermal resistance is minimized, and the period of time needed to reach the steady state of heat flow inside the sensor is minimized.
No dependent temperature: the greatest advantage of the Captec sensor is to have a sensitivity which no dependent temperature between the range extending from - 200°C to +200°C.
Flexibility: Size and shape on request, custom made for all type of special application, option thermocouple, water proof available.
Measurement: Short response time, high sensitivity (can be customized), low electrical resistance.

Applications:

- measure the difference of radiant flux in the two sides of a product in an environment.
- process control, test of environment.
